Hello!

Hi friends!
This website is built with a noble intention from this guy called Tenzin Nyima. Yeah, thats me. I hope you find something good and interesting in here. I grew up in this settlement and I have countless memories from this small village. Mainpat could be the first Tibetan Settlement which has such a nice website (Although I am not sure if any of the Tibetan Settlements in India has a website... forgive me if there is).

This website has no commercial purpose. Web making is my profession and my passion. So, I just thought of having this website for my settlement and I found it a nice platform to start some of the projects which were never introduced in the settlement before. I hope that from this website and with the help of my wonderful Mainpat friends who now live all around the world, I can start making some difference in the life of those people who live in Mainpat.

I have some nice projects lined up. All for the Mainpat people, in fact mostly for the youngsters out there. The detail on the projects is available on the project page on this website.

I also hope that this website is going to make some difference in the life of those people who once had some memories from this settlement. I will give my best effort to update the news and will try to get the latest photos. I feel unfortunate for the fact that 99% of the Tibetans who live in the settlement has no access of internet. But still I hope this website will play a noble role.....

This website is built with the following web technologies:

  • Javascript (applied on some of the pages)
  • PHP (applied on few pages)
  • SSI (to make it more easy to handle in the coming days)
  • Photoshop CS3 (for graphics)

This website is valid XHTML 1.0 (transitional) and up to web standards. This website is built with divs, divs and divs.... and very limited tables were used. Although this website should be working perfectly on all the browsers -- for your information, please if possible try to avoid Internet Explorer 6.0 and below, they don't follow the web standards. Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer 7.0 are some examples of good web browsers.
