Chemey Youngdung

President of National Democratic Party of Tibet (NDPT)

Mr. Chemi Youngdung was born at Mainpat settlement, Chattisgarh, India. He completed his studies from the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, Varanasi in 1998. Since then he has been undertaking various political activities for the enhancement of the Tibetan cause. He worked as an assistant secretary at India Desk (DIIR, CTA) and pioneered in the movement Gyelshen Lhenzom (Patriotic Get Together). He also worked as an editor for the monthly newspaper of Dharamsala called 'India and Tibet'. He taught at a school in Spiti valley for three years. He is currently the district incharge of BTSM and an executive member of Tibet's Friend Hokkaido, Japan. Officially he is the president of National Democratic Party of Tibet (NDPT), Centex, Dharamsala. Before accepting his presidential post, he worked as General Secretary of NDPT for almost three years. Chemi loves reading and composing poetry. He published two books on Tibetan Issues in Hindi language and two poem books in Hindi.
